Lipoedema may challenge an individual's ability to enjoy life. What we need is to create a balance between life activities and efforts to achieve psychological strength and resilience.

The World Health Organization defines mental health as "a state of well-being in which the individual realises his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community."

You know that you want to look and feel fitter and healthier. You know that you will feel better after a workout, yet you just can't bridge the gap between lying on the sofa, thinking about exercise and actually doing it.

Lipoedema and the frequent occurrence of Hypermobility in the joints of sufferers means a happy medium has to be found between gaining a good fitness level & keeping mobile and the greater risk of injury and ensuring you don't find exercising painful.
Laura Sunstein-Murphy is at home in the kitchen, she has been cooking since she was tall enough to see the work surfaces in her mother's kitchen. Through food sensitiveness and having Lipoedema, Laura has found ways to adapt her mother's recipes and come up with her own anti-inflammatory dishes. Now she shares them with us....Yummy!
