The Big Meet 2012
The Lipoedema Ladies Big Meet was held on Saturday 10th November 2012, not only was it Lipoedema ladies first AGM it was The World’s First Lipoedema Conference.
The central UK venue where it was held was the Ramada Hotel in Cannock, just outside of Birmingham.
In Attendance were over fifty ladies with Lipoedema, demonstrators and speakers that joined us were from The LSN, Haddenham HealthCare, Mr Ross (plastic surgeon), Body Brilliant, Sharie Fetzer (author of the LipoedemaUK questionnaire), MLDUK and Catherine Seo introduced Dr.Karen Herbst’s very informative Q & A session.
The Big Meet started with the rather apt Queen song ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’ followed by a brief introduction from the Lipoedema Ladies admin team, Cara Ashley- Jones, Joanne Bird and Michelle Ellis. They thanked everyone for their participation and spoke of their joy at what had started as a Facebook page, then turned support group was now hosting the first Lipoedema Conference in the world, the first of what they hope will be numerous worldwide and nationally.
