During your appointments at the clinics you will be asked to give your skin a little TLC. Parabens and all sorts of scary additions are in the bought creams and as we know that Lipoedema occurs at hormonal times, we think it safest to stick to natural products. Even better if you can make it yourself from food safety grade oils and butters - after all, if the ingredients have passed all the food safety guidelines and can enter inside your body, it is surely safe on your body.

A brush a day keeps the doctor away...
Dry brushing will encourage circulation; it boosts the body’s ability to eliminate toxins through the lympathac system. This elimination process helps break down fatty pockets, responsible for cellulite. The types of body brushing products available are loofahs, sisal mitts, long handled brushes and hand held bristle brushes. On brushes, ensure the bristles are not scratchy, they should be firm yet soft. Consider body brushing on a daily basis. If you have sensitive skin, wet the mitt and use it in the bath or shower with a natural soap or soap free cleanser. The water reduces the friction of the body brush so it will minimize any damage. After dry brushing, take a bath or shower to rinse off the dead skin cells that are lying like dust on the top of your skin and then apply your moisturiser.

Lipoedema is also know as Painful Fat Syndrome. At night we must ensure that we rest and allow our legs to recover the best they can. We spend a third of our lives in bed so it makes sense to be comfortable and not make our complaints worse. Pressure build up on a mattress can cause a flare up for several days. The 'all foam mattresses' have no pressure points because there are no springs in the mattress to push against the body. Now, there is a trick to pick out the right one as these products come in differnt firmness levels too. So you need to match the firmness level up to your body weight and height. The more the body mass of the person, the firmer or the more dense the foam needs to be. One thing to consider is that memory foam seems to get hot but often provides the best results for people who suffer with many conditions. Yet it is Latex that is tempature neutral and has no heat build up. There has also been some new break thoughs with the memory foam to cool them off. One is the gel infused memory foam and some new quilted covers will help.
